Leveling the feed path yourself
One of the main benefits of leveling a worn feed alley is improving feed intake. An uneven feed alley can cause old feed to build up in certain areas. This can lead to poor feed intake among the animals, with possible weight loss, reduced growth and suboptimal milk production. Leveling the feed alley ensures that the feed is distributed cleanly and evenly, and that all animals have the same chance to eat.

Farmcoat Epoxy Floor Coating is extremely suitable for leveling, renovating and restoring your feed alley. It also provides a very hard, impact-resistant and resistant layer. Farmcoat Epoxy floor coating has been specially developed so that it is very user-friendly. The processing is very easy to carry out yourself without compromising on quality.

Project: feed alley coating - Vriezeveen
In Vriezeveen, Farmcoat was recently applied to a new feed alley. After an on-site visit by our technical advisor, we were able to provide an appropriate recommendation suitable for this surface. Because the feed alley was not yet worn in, we were able to recommend a thin chemically resistant and mechanically resistant coat. Because the substrate consisted of floated concrete, we recommended sanding the concrete layer first. Then the primer and gray coating was applied in 1 day. The farmer could easily handle all this himself. To maintain a tight finish, the feed alley was first neatly marked out with tape.

How long does it take to apply a feed corridor coating?
Preparation is the most work. The feeding passage must first be cleaned thoroughly. After cleaning, sanding the floor may be necessary depending on the situation. After this preparation, you can start coating. The coating must dry/harden for approx. 12 hours. The entire process of preparation, coating and hardening will take approx. one to one and a half days. After that, you can feed again.
What colors is the coating available in?
Our coatings are offered as standard transparent or in RAL 7001 (grey). From a minimum order of 50 kg you can choose from any RAL or NCS colour. This is specially made to measure in our factory.
Does the coating contain anti-slip?
The coating provides a non-slip yet smooth finish. If you need an extra anti-slip, or even a very coarse anti-slip (walking surface of cattle) we can offer this on a custom basis.
How thick is the coating to apply?
The feed alley coating can be applied in very thick layers. Assume up to 4 kilos per square meter. For very worn surfaces it has a leveling effect.
Is it easy to apply yourself?
Farmcoat is developed in such a way that it can still be applied easily by laymen/inexperienced people. With every order we provide a detailed manual as standard, in which the steps are clearly described how the coating is applied. We also place various instruction videos
What accessories do I all need?
We offer a Farmcoat Application package on the website (see accessories). This package contains all the materials you need for coating, such as rollers, mixing tool, brackets, ADP cleaner, etc.
